- Provide 300 g Demerera Sugar
- Get 100 g Margarine
- Use 30 g Golden Syrup
- Provide 15 g Treacle
- Provide 4 tbsp Water
Steps to make Bonfire Toffee:
- Add all ingredients to a pan and heat slowly until margarine and sugar are melted
- Continue to heat the mixture up to 285°c
- Do a drop test with the mixture by dropping a little into some cold water. It should separate into brittle threads.
- Pour the mixture into a greased tray or tray lined with baking paper.
- Leave to cool and set. Once set break up with a small hammer and enjoy.
